AWR Regulations coming into force

MAS are now working on the implementation of the AWR due to come into effect in October 2011. We are able to provide users of temproary agency staff with detailed information regarding compliance to the new regulations. If you are a user of agency staff and it is likely that your temproary assignments will last longer than 12 weeks, then we would like to help. Quality employers will recognise the importance of compliance and the value of temporary workers and ensure they work with an informed professional when using agency staff services. GLA Qualifacication Approved

MAS Recruitment is pleased to annouce they have received approval for a GLA licence today. Our ref no is masr0004.

This means we will now be able to extend our unique service to clients in the agricultural, horticultural, forestry, food packaging and processing sectors. We have of course worked with many food retailers and distribution outlets and can now employ our recruitment methods and standards across the entire sector.

ChristMAS Charity Support

MAS are pleased to have been able to donate gifts and toys at todays First Friday Club meeting. It was so nice to see so many professionals make generous donations so that some of Reading's poorest children get to smile on ChristMAS day morning.

Well done to the organisers and in particular for Dene and his team at the Reading Chronical and the event host The Penta Hotel, the refreshments went down well on this bitterly cold day.

Swine Flu Precaution

A number of MAS employees are showing symptons of swine flu. As a precaution we will be closing the office until Monday 20th July 2009 for a few days.. Its business as usual but without face to face contact. We are confident this will limit exposure. For day to day enquiries you should call the normal office number 0118 9588383. We will not be taking telephone applications from work seekers this week, so if you can email your CV to MAS through our website. Clients and workers on assignment should ring in the normal way. Your co-operation is much appreciated.

20th Anniversary Celebrations

This year will be memorable in many different ways but for us, it has a special significance, as its marks our 20th anniversary and as a valued client, we wanted to take time to write to you and thank you for all your support.

Over the years, we have worked hard to build a reputation for service excellence and our objective when we set up MAS Recruitment, was to provide an open and honest relationship with clients in order to build trust and loyalty and this ethos means as much today, as it did 20 years ago..

Mike and I started MAS from a small office on the 27th May 1989 above a barbers shop on the Wokingham Road. In those days it was compulsory to be licensed by the department of employment (not a bad thing) and we straight away headed into the 1990/91 recession, which saw interest rates soar to 15% and many people lose their jobs and experience negative equity. Not a great time to start a new business.

We survived and in 1994 saw the deregulation of the recruitment industry and by 1995, moved to our current location in London street. By 2000 MAS was firmly established as a leading local recruitment specialist and despite dire warnings we survived the “Millennium Bug”. In 2004 we purchased the building we now occupy and commenced a programme of refurbishment completed finally in 2005.

Over the years, we have been proud sponsors of numerous charities and good causes including; The Children’s Wish Foundation, MacMillian, London Irish Rugby, Future Hope School, Calcutta and Berkshire Air ambulance, to name but a few. We have witnessed changes in government, changes in the Thames valley and changes in legislation.

One thing however that has not changed, is the way our company is managed and the attitudes of the people behind it. Our values lie in Making Absolutely Sure, you get the very best of what we have to offer or you get an honest answer. As part of our 20th anniversary we have launched our new division TalentDesk@MAS. This new service will enable you to enjoy the many benefits of working with MAS throughout your entire business, from the shop floor to the boardroom.
