20th Anniversary Celebrations

This year will be memorable in many different ways but for us, it has a special significance, as its marks our 20th anniversary and as a valued client, we wanted to take time to write to you and thank you for all your support.

Over the years, we have worked hard to build a reputation for service excellence and our objective when we set up MAS Recruitment, was to provide an open and honest relationship with clients in order to build trust and loyalty and this ethos means as much today, as it did 20 years ago..

Mike and I started MAS from a small office on the 27th May 1989 above a barbers shop on the Wokingham Road. In those days it was compulsory to be licensed by the department of employment (not a bad thing) and we straight away headed into the 1990/91 recession, which saw interest rates soar to 15% and many people lose their jobs and experience negative equity. Not a great time to start a new business.

We survived and in 1994 saw the deregulation of the recruitment industry and by 1995, moved to our current location in London street. By 2000 MAS was firmly established as a leading local recruitment specialist and despite dire warnings we survived the “Millennium Bug”. In 2004 we purchased the building we now occupy and commenced a programme of refurbishment completed finally in 2005.

Over the years, we have been proud sponsors of numerous charities and good causes including; The Children’s Wish Foundation, MacMillian, London Irish Rugby, Future Hope School, Calcutta and Berkshire Air ambulance, to name but a few. We have witnessed changes in government, changes in the Thames valley and changes in legislation.

One thing however that has not changed, is the way our company is managed and the attitudes of the people behind it. Our values lie in Making Absolutely Sure, you get the very best of what we have to offer or you get an honest answer. As part of our 20th anniversary we have launched our new division TalentDesk@MAS. This new service will enable you to enjoy the many benefits of working with MAS throughout your entire business, from the shop floor to the boardroom.
