We are currently looking to provide support services to a local charity who need an individual to carry out general repairs and maintenance to residents rooms and accomodation units in local care homes and residential blocks.
Ideally you should have some DIY/Maintenance experience and be able to use power tools and equipment safely.
Duties include minor repairs like changing light bulbs, wireing plugs as well as some plumbing and minor building works, changing locks, unblocking toilets etc etc.
This is a full time temporary assignment which carries a greater degree of responsibility and confidentiality as you may be working alongside vulnerable adults who need reliable support and a feeling of security.
Therefore the ability to be reliable, discreet and co-operative is essential at all times as well as maintain distance and fix issues that occur from time to time around tseveral properties. You may be on call at certain times.
The role is rewarding in many ways and invaluable in assisting individuals to get back on their feet. If you have your own tools this is useful although not essential.
