Reading recruiters meet MP to voice concerns over Temp Workers Bill
Representatives from a MAS recruitment met the town’s MP Martin Salter to discuss the possible impact of proposed new regulations on temporary workers.
Their meeting follows a debate in the House of Commons last month which resulted in the Temporary and Agency Workers Bill going to Committee stage.
The Recruitment and Employment confederation ( REC ) as part of its lobbying campaign against the Bill, had been inviting its members to contact their local MPs to make them more aware of its contents and also to help change their perceptions of the recruitment industry. Mas recruitment Ltd. a corporate member of the REC, has for twenty years provided temporary and permanent job opportunities throughout the Thames Valley from their London Street Reading base. Michael Rowe MAS Recruitment’s M.D. organised the meeting with Mr Salter and commented afterwards “ Martin Salter seemed very interested in what we had to say about our industry generally but perhaps more importantly recognised the significant contribution we make to helping people into work” he added “ I think he accepted many of our reservations on the negative impact this bill might have”
